The Story

Added by SpowisBrotherhood of Leet: 8 Bit Wars (hereafter, “BoL”) is the fictional history of one particular Company of the Gamer Army called the Pixel Dogs. BoL revisions the 8-Bit Wars as a struggle, not between two game hardware companies, but between two great nations.
Inspired by military dramas such as “Band of Brothers” and “Saving Private Ryan”, the narrative centers on the experiences of one particular Company (the Pixel Dogs) from basic training, through various battles and the quiet times in between, culminating with the end of the 8-Bit Wars. Using a blend of dramatic reenactments, “historical” footage and interviews, several aging veterans will tell the harrowing exploits from the games that, in the end, turned the Company of amateurs (or “noobs”) into a hardened brotherhood of elite (or “leet”).
The miniseries is an observational comedy based on an overarching metaphor where gaming is the tenor and World War 2 is the vehicle. A gamer is a soldier. Their game controllers are their weapons. Their games are missions on a digital battlefield. Replace the scene of soldiers nervously cleaning their rifles in preparation for D-Day with soldiers calibrating Zappers in preparation for Nintendo’s console launch day (or “L-Day”).
Instead of men hunkered down in a foxhole between mortar salvos, our soldiers will take refuge in a couch cushion fortress.
